فنی/رسمی. 'ماهواره' یک اصطلاح علمی کلی برای هر شیء است که به دور سیارهای میچرخد، چه طبیعی و چه مصنوعی. ماه تنها ماهواره طبیعی زمین است. اگرچه از نظر علمی دقیق است، اما معمولاً در مکالمات روزمره برای اشاره به ماه زمین استفاده نمیشود.
Technical/Formal. 'Satellite' is the general scientific term for any object orbiting a planet, natural or artificial. The Moon is Earth's only natural satellite. While scientifically accurate, it's not typically used in everyday conversation to refer to the Earth's Moon.

Literary/Poetic. The Latin name for the Moon, often used in literary or mythological contexts, or for scientific missions. You wouldn't say 'look at the luna tonight' in common speech, but 'lunar cycle' is common.

Common. To be lost in thought, often pleasant. It's similar to 'moon' when one is idly thinking about a loved one, but 'moon' more strongly implies a romantic, passive state. You can daydream about anything, but 'moon' usually has a romantic object.

Formal/Literary. To suffer from being forced to remain in an unpleasant place or situation, or to waste away. It shares the listless quality with 'moon', but 'languish' carries a stronger sense of suffering or decay rather than just being lovesick.
