تفاوت با واژههای مشابه
رایج. معنی مشابه ولی طعنهآمیز مستقیمتر است و snide اغلب زیرکانهتر است. مثلا remark snide بیشتر حس پنهانی دارد.

رسمی و شدید. sneering تحقیر آشکار است و snide معمولا پنهانیتر است. وقتی لحن آشکارا خصمانه است استفاده میشود.
