رایج. تقریباً همیشه هنگام اشاره به فاصله فیزیکی قابل جایگزینی است.
Common. Almost always interchangeable when referring to physical distance — 'a far place' works as well as 'a distant place'.
رسمی/فنی. وقتی تأکید بر دورافتادگی و سختی دسترسی است به جای distant به کار میرود.
Formal/technical. Can replace 'distant' when emphasizing isolation or difficulty of access — 'a remote village' fits better than 'a distant village' in some contexts.

Common/formal. Suggests quietness and self-restraint more than emotional coldness; can sometimes replace 'distant' in social contexts.
